Ripping fabric

I have my plan for what I am doing set in my head. The deadline is February 28. I like deadlines. I am working on a challenge for AQC Melbourne. The theme is Free and it has taken me about 2 months to come up with an idea that I think is original. So step 1 is to randomly cut and tear fabrics into approximate squares measuring between 5 and 10 centimetres.

As you can see, these are all in the light brown range and they will form the background. I really the thready look and am incorporating this into my piece. As you can see, I like to work intuitively and rarely spend lots of time drawing. Rather, I tend to think about what I am planning for a long time, even months, before the idea and how it will come together gels.
